What drew Ysolde to the Music Logic method?
“I learnt the piano from the age of 7 until 23, and had a very good relationship with my teacher. However, as for most people who learn music, the conventional way of teaching did not work for me.
I knew what all the notes were called, and where they were on the piano. I could even work out the Bass Clef notes, but I couldn’t actually read music. I could play a lot of pieces that I somehow committed to memory, including the first page and a half of Beethoven’s “Moonlight Sonata”.
I spent many years trying to learn to read until one fateful day when I found out about Music Logic. A poster said “Learn in 18 weeks what would normally take 18 months”.
I wanted to know more.
After my first lesson, I was so excited because I had begun to read music. After about 12 weeks, I decided I would learn the remainder of the First Movement of the “Moonlight Sonata”.
I thought it would be a long term “Project” when I sat down at my piano. I began to play, and when I got to the part that I didn’t know, I continued to read and play. Within 12 weeks, I could sight read the entire First Movement of “Moonlight Sonata”.
Why wouldn’t I want to teach this remarkable method?”
